How Does Instant Replay technology Work?
Instant replay is a video reproduction of something that just occurred which was both filmed and broadcast live. The video, already been shown live, is replayed in order for viewers to see it again and analyse what had just happened. Some sports allow officiating calls to be overturned after the review of a play. Instant replay is commonly used in sports, but is also used in other areas of live Television. While the first instant replay system was used in Canada, the first instant replay was developed in the United States.
The instant replay footage works using multiple high-performance cameras. These cameras are normally positioned on the underside of the stadium roof and next to or close to the field, which tracks the ball from different angles. The cameras are then capturing footage of the play from multiple perspectives so the play can be seen from all different views in case a person is blocking the view of the ball. Instant replay is extremely accurate but is generally trusted as a second opinion in sports.
